The Sri Lanka Hockey Federation (SLHF) will field two senior Men’s and Women’s teams for the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Asia Cup Tournament.
The tournament is scheduled to be held in March next year and the venue and the exact dates will be finalised at the next AHF Council Meeting.
SLHF Secretary P. Vishwanadan said they were able to select a total of 110 players at the first selection trial held recently and this squad will be pruned down to 70 (35 men and 35 women) after the second selection trial on December 11 and 12 to be held at the Astro Turf in Colombo.

Thereafter, the national pool training will commence from January, 2022.

Meanwhile, the AHF has provided a consultant coach from South Korea to assist the Sri Lanka Men’s and Women’s Team in addition to the local coaches.
The consultant coach will be stationed in Sri Lanka on a long-term basis and all his perks and other requirements will be funded by the AHF.
