Sri Lanka to host ICC AGM in Colombo

Sri Lanka is set to host the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from July 19 to 22 this year in Colombo, Sports Minister Harin Fernando said yesterday.

He said that hosting the ICC AGM would significantly boost Sri Lanka’s cricketing and tourism sectors.During the period of Sri Lanka’s cricket ban by the ICC, there was a risk of losing the opportunity to host this meeting.

Sri Lanka missed out on hosting the Under-19 ICC Cricket World Cup, which is currently underway in South Africa.Following the recent lifting of the suspension by the ICC, Sri Lanka has regained the hosting rights for the ICC AGM.
