Eight Sri Lankan shuttlers are set to participate in the South Asian Under-15 and Under-17 Badminton Championships in Pakistan.


The delegation will travel to Pakistan for this regional junior championship, accompanied by Coach Rajitha Dahanayake, Assistant Coach Maduranga de Silva and Lady Chaperone Tharanga Wimalasuriya.


The championship, organised under the auspices of Badminton Asia and hosted by the Pakistan Badminton Federation, will take place from March 3 to 7 at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.


The event will feature team competitions on the first and second days, followed by individual events on the fifth and sixth days, culminating with the finals on March 7.
Participants from Sri Lanka in the Under-15 category include Boys’ Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles players - Amawann Amarasinha and Chenal Madapathage and Girls’ Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles players - Thenuki Ayansa de Silva and Binuri Jananga.


In the Under-17 category, participants include Boys’ Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles players - Mihila Ravishka, Krishna Jayaweera and Tejana Herath along with Girls’ Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles players - Nethmi Ratnayake and Lakshana Sajeewakumar.
