Sri Lanka Cricket’s Director of Cricket, Tom Moody, has stayed back in England, it is learnt.
According to sources close to the team management, Moody, who traveled with the team on the recent England tour has stayed back and may not be in Sri Lanka for the forthcoming series against India.
“No, he has not returned with us. He is involved in coaching in the forthcoming The Hundred tournament here”, the source said.
The 30-day Hundred tournament begins on July 21.
“The players will undergo an appropriate quarantine period allocated by the Ministry of Health and frequent PCR tests before they begin training (for the India series),” one of the doctors said.
The limited over series against India which begins from July 13 will be played without fans.
“We will take all possible precautions and use the current medical knowledge to have a safe tournament against India,” Prof. Arjuna de Silva, the chairman of the medical panel of SLC, said.
“Our strength is the health ministry, the army and our committed medical team.”
“We work together and will do our best to fight against the Coronavirus,” he further added.
