Sri Lanka’s Dinara de Silva bowed out of contention of the second ITF World Junior J60 Tennis Tournament as she went down to Stefi Aludo of the Philippines 2-0 in the quarter-final encounter played at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo yesterday.
Yasmin Vavrovaof Slovakia who won the first tournament also bowed out when she lost to Tennielle Madis of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, in the Boys’ category Ruochen Gao of China, Tavish Pahwa of India, Roman Kulpin of Germany and Luke Koh of Singapore secured their spots in the semi-finals.

Girls’ Singles (Quarter-finals): Priyanka Rana (USA) beat Sreenidi Balaji (India) 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Stefi Aludo (Philippines) beat Dinara de Silva (Sri Lanka) 7-6, 6-2. Sohini Mohanty (India) beat Nanayo Wada (Japan) 6-3, 6-4. Tennielle Madis (Philippines) beat Yasmin Vavrova (Slovakia) 2-0.
Boys’ Singles (Quarter-finals): Ruochen Gao (China) beat Kuan Yu (Chinese Taipei). Tavish Pahwa (India) beat Venkat Batlanki (USA) 6-2, 6-4. Roman Kulpin (Germany) beat Viraj Gohil (India) 6-0, 0-6, 6-1. Luke Koh (Singapore) beat Tzu Tseng (Chinese Taipei) 6-4, 7-5.
