Nadaraja Thangaraja |
Sri Lanka’s Nadaraja Thangaraja put up a fine performance to emerge as the runner-up at the Chennai Open Golf Championship 2022.
Around 126 competitors including many seasoned and high-ranked players were present at this tournament and only 50 were selected for the last two rounds after the cut.
PGTI Ranked number four Karandeep Kochhar took the lead on the opening day, but Thangaraja secured the top spot on the second and third days of the championship. However, PGTI Ranked number three Manu Gandas came on par with Thangaraja on the final day and the Sri Lankan golfer eventually had to settle with the second place. Thangaraja of course, had the satisfaction of defeating the winner of the Players Championship 2022, Khalin Joshi in the previous week of the circuit, who was pushed to the third place. (SP)
