Several former Sri Lanka football stars have formed a football wing of St. Benedict’s College.
Among them are former Sri Lanka captain and past President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka Anura de Silva, Tilak Peiris, one of the founder members who is heading the Soccer Masters Association for several years, Randolph Perera who was also the former Benedictine captain and the FA Cup champion team Old Bens SC, and the secretary Trevin Ramanaden, with the support of the energetic Director of St. Benedict’s, Rev. Bro Pubudu Rajapakshe, their aim is to bring back the glory of yesteryears.
St. Benedict’s has been one of the top football playing schools in the past. The main aim is to bring high standard of football back to the school by encouraging and promoting young footballers from the grass root level.
