St. Joseph Vaz, Hirdaramani bag Novices VB titles

St. Joseph Vaz Sports Club of North Western Province and Hirdaramani Sports Club of Sabaragamuwa Province won the Under-25 Men’s and Women’s Munchee Novices Volleyball Championship 2023 held at the University Indoor Stadium in Peradeniya.  
A total of nine provincial teams participated in the tournament, which was conducted by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation.  

In the Men’s Tournament final, St. Joseph Vaz SC defeated Rajasingha SC 31-33, 25-18, 25-12, 25-23 while Kavishka Chathumal of the winning team was named Best Player.  
Hirdaramani SC beat Bitulink SC of the Eastern Province 25-11, 25-23, 25-22 to win the Women’s title while Dilrukshi Harshani from the champion team won the Best Player Award.  
Meanwhile, Singha Sports Club from North Central Province took the third place in the Men’s Tournament while Sangamitta Balika Sports Club from Western Province secured the third place in the Women’s Tournament.

Best Attacker: Sulakshana Pasindu (Bitulink SC).   
Best Player: Dilrukshi Harshani (Hirdaramani SC).  
Best Performances (Men’s): Best Setter: Roshan Senaru (St. Joseph Vaz SC).   
Best Attacker: T. G. N. Kaushalya (Rajasingha SC).   
Best Player: Kavishka Chathumal (St. Joseph Vaz SC).
