State Services emerge Sri Lions netball champs

State Service Netball Association (SSNA) won the Sri Lions International Invitational Netball Tournament at the St. Joseph’s College Indoor Stadium in Colombo.  
State Services edged out Sri Lions SC 44-43 in the tournament’s final, which included six local and overseas teams.   
Meanwhile, Matrix Club - Maldives Team beat Sir John Kotelawala Defence University 43-24 to claim third place in the tournament.  
In the semi-finals Sri Lions SC beat Kotelawala Defence University 65-27 and the State Service had the better of Matrix - Maldives 57-26.  
Former Sri Lanka Netball Captain Chathurangi Jayasooriya from the State Service Team won the Player of the Tournament Award.  

Sri Lions International, Matrix SC Maldives, Sri Lanka Schools, Kotelawala Defence University, State Service and the Nationalised Service participated in this tournament.  
Best Performances: Best Centre Player of the Tournament: Tharushi Perera (Sri Lions SC). Best Defensive Player of the Tournament: Akila Jayawardhana (Sri Lions SC). Best Shooter of the Tournament (Dulangi Dananji (State Service). Player of the Final: Thilini Wattegedara (State Service). Player of the Tournament: Chathurangi Jayasooriya (State Service).
