Sumathipala to contest Jaswar for FSL presidency

Football Sri Lanka’s (FSL) immediate past president, Umar Jaswar of the Sri Lanka Football Referees Association, and Dakshitha Sumathipala from the Anuradhapura Football League have submitted their nominations to contest for the post of FSL president.

The acceptance of nominations for the FSL election was completed last Saturday (19). Significantly, FSL’s immediate past president Jaswar, former president Ranjith Rodrigo, and former senior vice president Dr. Manil Fernando have jointly submitted nominations.

Anuradhapura Football League president Dakshitha Sumathipala has submitted nominations as Umar Jaswar’s main rival for the post of FSL president.
The FSL election for 2023–2027 is scheduled to be held on September 29 under the supervision of FIFA and the AFC to select 13 officials.
