Sumudu and Shikari steer Southern Province

Half centuries by Sumudu Nisansala (93) and Shikari de Silva (50) helped the Southern Province record a convincing 106-run win over North Central Province in their 48th National Sports Games Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament encounter played in Kandy.

Meanwhile, the Western Province and the North Western Province came out victorious in two other matches played at Bandaragama and Kandy respectively.

At Kandy – Southern Province won by 106 runs.

Southern Province: 180/5 in 20 overs (Sumudu Nisansala 93, Shikari de Silva 50)

North Central Province: 74 in 18.4 overs (Nimsara Dissanayake 21, Chamari Lakshani 2/2, Hirunika Niwarthani 2/5, Sudesha Sathsarani 2/15).At Bandaragama – Western Province won by five wickets.

Uva Province: 91/6 in 15 overs.

Western Province: 92/5 in 13.5 overs (Yenuli Kahapalaarachchi 44 n.o, Roshini Perera 21 n.o).
At Kandy – North Western Province won by two wickets.

Eastern Province: 87/6 in 20 overs (Vimoksha Balasooriya 27 n.o, Uthpala Wijeratne 2/10, Sewmini Nicholas 2/14)

North Western Province: 88/8 in 14.4 overs (Chathurani Gunawardena 20 n.o, Erandi Hansamali 2/15, Mithali Ayodhya 2/30).
