Thangaraja into early lead at SLG Ranking Tourney

The Sri Lanka Golf (SLG) National Ranking Tournament for August 2024 teed off yesterday with professional golfer N. Thangaraja taking the early lead at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) Course at the end of day one.  

The opening day saw a fierce battle on the greens with Thangaraja leading the way with a score of 66 followed closely by Chalitha Pushpika at 69 and Kumar Danushan at 70.  

Meanwhile, Yannik Kumara and Husain Uwise rounded out the top five with scores of 71 and 73 respectively.  

In preparation for the Philippine Golf Tournament leading golfers, Reshan Algama and Kaya Daluwatte are not participating in this event.  

Meanwhile, Jevahn Sathasivam, who is on a private entry too, is not in the list of participants.  

The RCGC, known for its challenging layout and pristine conditions, has once again proven to be the perfect venue for this national-level event.  

Golfers from across the country have converged at the historic club, eager to showcase their skills and vie for the coveted title.  

The action continues today (day two) with golfers eager to climb the rankings and secure their place in the history books. This four-day tournament will end on August 29.   

There were 30 Men and four Ladies’ teeing off in this event.
