Thisara, Hirupavan shine in drawn game

Openers Thisara Sishara and Hirupavan Horanage shone for Dharmapala MV Pannipitiya against Ananda College in the drawn Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Pannipitiya yesterday.

Sishara cracked a quick-fire 85 in only 60 balls inclusive of 16 boundaries and a six while Hirupavan made 54, as the pair put on a valuable opening wicket stand of 126 runs to help Dharmapala MV end day two with a formidable score of 324 for 6. This was in reply to Ananda’s score of 295 for 3 declared made on day one.
