The Old Boys of S. Thomas’ College edged their traditional rivals Royal College in sensational fashion at the 53rd Royal-Thomian golf tournament, winning 29 points to 28 and reclaiming the Fred de Saram trophy.
In a keenly contested final, Royal College held a slender one-point lead, before the Thomian pairing of Christopher Dias and Arjun Gunaratna pulled off the win in the 17th hole.

It was a reminiscent of last year’s result, when Royal pulled-off a win by half a point.
Meanwhie, the Play Golf for Charity Fund exceeded Rs 5 million.

The Royal-Thomian Golfers’ Guild in partnership with Mortern Cricket Australia had raised significant sums of money that will be presented to The Royal College of Anesthetist and Intensivists of Sri Lanka.

This is in line with the College’s Heal Sri Lanka programme that will ensure these funds be used to secure much needed medical equipment to service the ICU and Critical Care units located in the peripheries.
