The Sri Lanka Air Force Cycling Union plan to conduct the 23rd Tour de Sri Lanka Air Force cycle race in March 2022.

This was the only event that was held in 2021 and the organisers hope to conduct the 2022 event to mark the 71st anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The 2021 event was restricted to a one-day race but this time the organisers are determined to have a three-day race with the approval of the Defence Ministry and the Health Ministry.

Sri Lanka Air Force are also hoping to invite riders from overseas, who are attached to the Air Force of their respective countries.

A final decision on the race will be made in November following a meeting with high-ranking officials of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The 2021 event was held among competitors from Colombo and Gampaha District with Sonal de Silva of Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Udeshini Niranjani of Sri Lanka Army winning the Men’s and Women’s title respectively.
