Trinity College will be all out to get back to their winning ways when they host St. Anthony’s College in their Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament match at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekele today. The kick-off is at 4.15 p.m.

Trinity, under Anuhas Kodithuwakku had a great start beating S. Thomas’ College at home in their annual encounter played for the Cannon R. S. de Saram Shield.

But their defeats at the hands of D. S. Senanayake College and Isipathana College - both at Havelock Park – have put them on a difficult equation to qualify for the Super Round segment of the tournament.

Last week, they got the better of the newcomers Sri Sumangala College in their match played at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy.

The Trinity three quarter line has ample talent led by Anuhas, with their full back, Yevan Hulangamuwa joining the line most of the time while on attack.

Their scrum half Udan Wijekoon has also been an outstanding player this season. In forwards play Thisanga Dissanayake, Ravin Illangarathne and Dehan Watagoda have been omnipresent for the Lions this season.

The Antonians are led by Oshan Gunarathne with Rakesh Pillai being outstanding for the Katugastota outfit. They have lost all their four games so far to Science College, D. S. Senanayake, S. Thomas’ and Dharmaraja.

Referee: Ishanka Abeykoon.

Meanwhile on July 21 Vidyartha College will host Thurstan College at the Nittawela Stadium in Kandy.

Vidyartha, though much was expected and putting up a gutsy performance against Royal at the Nittawela Stadium, went down to Zahira College, which has put them out of the Super Round contention.

This encounter will be refereed by Hasantha Weranga.

On the same day Dharmaraja will host Science College at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekele.

This fixture could be a closely fought game with the Kandy outfit likely to pull it off. This encounter will be refereed by Raveen Alexander.
