Unbeaten CR confront winless Navy

Colombo, Jan. 5 (Daily Mirror) - Unbeaten CR and FC will confront winless Navy SC at Welisara while the CH and FC will lock horns against Air Force SC at the Racecourse in two Inter-Club League Rugby Tournament matches scheduled for tomorrow.

CR led by Suhiru Anthony have won all their four matches played so far and will be coming into the game with confidence. But they went through some anxious moments in their previous match against the CH and were made to fight hard for their win by five points (28-23).

CR Skipper Anthony will be banking on Thenuka Nanayakkara, Yasas Kavindu, Lasindu Karunatileke, Chemod Muthunayake, Adeesha Weeratunga, Naveen Marasinghe, Gemunu Chethiya, Mursheed Zubair and Shenal Adikaram to deliver the goods.

Navy SC led by Thilina Weerasinghe are yet to record a win and have suffered four successive defeats.

Meanwhile, the scale is in favour of the CH team led by Avantha Lee as they have recorded two wins this season.

CH put in a spirited display in their previous match against the CR and FC and will be looking to chalk up their third win of the league.

Skipper Lee has in his ranks players in the likes of Hirusha Nethmina, Prasath Madusanka, Nirosh Perera, Janith Laksara, Thanuja Maduranga, Janidu Dilshan and Pulasthi Dissanayake.

Air Force SC led by Parakrama Ratnayake put in a fine performance in their match against the defending champions Kandy SC last week and will be looking for a repeat performance.

The Airmen will be banking on players like Sandalu Mandew, Shamika Kaushan, Nirmal Wickramasinghe and Gayantha Iddamalgoda.
