Unbeaten Matara City on top of Champions League

Matara City SC took the top spot after the completion of Stage-10 matches of the Football Sri Lanka (FSL) organised Champions League Football Tournament.   

Matara City SC finished with a total of 28 points after they edged out Serendib SC 1-0 in their previous fixture played at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday.   

This was the ninth win for Matara City SC as they remained unbeaten so far, in the tournament having also figured in one drawn encounter.   

Reshan Weerappuli scored the solitary goal for Matara City SC in their match against Serendib SC.   
Meanwhile, top contenders Java Lane SC were pushed to second place with 26 points in the latest points table after they figured in a 1-1 draw against SLTB SC.   

In addition, Crystal Palace SC defeated Solid SC 3-1 at Anuradhapura while Pelicans SC beat Saunders SC 2-0 at the Maligapitiya Grounds in Kurunegala and Moragasmulla SC had the better of Super Sun SC 4-2 at Galle.   
Meanwhile, St. Mary’s SC will take on Police SC in another Stage-10 match at the Maligapitiya Grounds in Kurunegala.
