Under 15 Cricket Kavith, Meyon shine as Maris Stella enters quarter-finals

Skipper Kavith de Silva and Meyon Rodrigo shone for Maris Stella College Negombo against Royal College Polonnaruwa in the pre-quarter final encounter of the Under 15 Division One cricket tournament played at Negombo.   
De Silva cracked a quick fire 130 ball knock of 139 which was his third ton of the tournament that included 18 boundaries and four sixes while Rodrigo hit 68 and the pair associated in a massive second wicket stand of 195 runs to help Maris Stella taking first lease of the wicket to make a formidable score of 284 for 5 declared.   
Royal batsmen failed in their run chase apart from a top knock of 65 by Poorna Gunaratne ended the day on 148 for 9 which ensured a comfortable win on bonus points for Maris Stella to advance to the quarter-finals.   

In the other pre-quarter final matches played Royal College Colombo along with St. Peter’s College, St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa and Isipathana College coming out victorious against Richmond College, St. Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa, St. Joseph’s College and St. Anthony’s College Katugastota to book berths to the quarter-finals.
