A top knock of 102 inclusive of 16 boundaries by Sehadu Sooriyaarachchi which was his third ton and half tons by Hirun Matheesha and Thevindu Wewelwala helped Royal College Colombo to record a convincing first innings win over Maris Stella Negombo in the quarter-final encounter of the Under 15 Division One inter-school cricket tournament played at Ananda Mawatha.
Maris Stella taking first lease of the wicket was bowled out for 141 runs and Royal helped by the trio’s knocks ended the day making a formidable score of 328 for 5 which paved the way for them to advance to the semi-final.
Isipathana College and Mahanama College Colombo too recorded first innings wins against Christ King College Ja-ela and St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa in two other quarter-final matches to book the berth to the semi-finals.
