Under 15 Final Hirun steers Royal to title win

Hirun Matheesha stole the limelight with a fine knock of 95 in Royal College’s first innings win over Isipathana College in the final of the Under 15 Division One inter-school cricket tournament played at Campbell Park.   

Matheesha’s knock which came off in 116 balls had 14 boundaries and a six and was associated in two valuable partnerships first an opening wicket stand of 43 runs with Manuth Dasanayake and the other of 99 runs for the second wicket with Sehadu Sooriyaarachchi which helped Royal make 142 for 2 in reply to Isipathana’s score of 120 for 9. Royal in the process by virtue of their first innings win emerged champions.
