Under-17 Cricket Nethmina spins De Mazenod to quarter finals

An impressive match figure of 6/12 by right-arm spinner Kaveen Nethmina paved the way for De Mazenod College, Kandana, to record a crushing seven-wicket win over Royal College, Colombo, in the pre-quarterfinal encounter of the Under-17 Division One inter-school limited over tournament encounter played at Kandana.
Nethmina ran through the Royal batting to bundle them out for a paltry 62 runs, and De Mazenod, in their run chase, reached the target in the 15th over to advance to the quarter final.
St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, along with Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, and Rahula College, Matara, came out victorious in three other pre-quarterfinal encounters against Nalanda College, St. Aloysius’ College, Galle, and Taxila Central, Horana, in the matches played at Campbell Place, Kurunegala, and Matara, respectively, to book their berths in the quarter finals.
