Half tons by Romesh Mendis, Charuka Peiris and Mahith Perera and a five-wicket haul by Akash Fernando helped S. Thomas’ College record a big win by 240 runs against St. Benedict’s College in the Under 17 inter-school cricket encounter played at Mt Lavinia.

The trio’s half tons helped S. Thomas’ taking first lease of the wicket make a formidable score of 277 for 8 and St. Benedict’s in their run chase found Fernando and Nathan Caldera too hot to handle as they were bundled out for a meager 37 runs.

St. Joseph’s along with Royal Colombo, St. Sebastian’s Moratuwa, Dharmasoka MV Kelaniya, Rahula Matara and St. Thomas Matara came out victorious in the other matches that were played.
