Avishka Nirmal and Pramod Chathuranga shone for Christ King College Ja-ela in their 69-run win against Maliyadeva Model School Kurunegala in the quarter-final encounter of the Under 17 Division Two limited over tournament at Thimibirigaskatwa.
The duo cracked half tons to help Christ King, taking first lease of the wicket, to make a formidable score of 258 runs while Maliyadeva Model School in their run chase were restricted to a score of 189, giving them a berth in the semi-finals.
Zahira College Colombo recorded a comfortable six-wicket win over Royal Central Kurunegala in a low scoring match of the same tournament played at Kurunegala to qualify to the semi-final.
