Dulnith Sigera made 109 for Colombo North U17

A ton by Dulnith Sigera supported by half-tons from Denura Damsith and skipper Kithma Vidanapathirana helped Colombo North Under-17 to record a win by three wickets on the D/L method over Kandy Under-17 in a high-scoring match of the Sri Lanka Youth League limited tournament encounter played at the Samadhi ground in Anuradhapura.
Dulnith slammed a quick-fire 64-ball knock of 109 that included nine boundaries and eight towering sixes, while Denura and Kithma made knocks of 58 and 52, respectively. Dulnith shared two valuable partnerships, first an opening wicket stand of 57 runs with Nethula Edirimanna and the other of 111 runs for the second wicket with Denura.
Colombo North Under-17 in pursuit of 293 runs for victory was on 277 for 5 having faced 42.3 overs when rain put a stoppage to proceedings, which ensured them a five wicket win on D/L and in the process recorded their second successive win of the tournament.
Dambulla Under-17 recorded a three-wicket win over Colombo South Under-17 in another match of the same tournament played at the Army ground in Saliyapura. Colombo South Under 17 taking first lease of the wicket was bowled out for 168 runs, and Dambulla Under 17 in their run chase raced to the target in the 46th over.
