Under 19 Cricket Akash, Nathan send Isipathana reeling

S. Thomas’ College’s left and right arm pace combination of Akash Fernando and Nathan Caldera shared nine wickets between them to send Isipathana College reeling to a low score on day one in the Under 19 inter-school cricket played at Mount Lavinia.

Fernando ended with impressive figures of 5 for 8 while Caldera bagged 4 for 11 as they combined with effect to bundle out Isipathana for a paltry 31 runs.

Later, half tons by Romesh Mendis and Senesh Hettiarachchi helped the Thomians to end the day in a strong position of 201 for 4.
