Under 19 Cricket Oveen steers St. Peter’s to easy win

An unbeaten 70 inclusive of four boundaries and two sixes by Oveen Salgado paved the way for St. Peter’s College to record an easy six-wicket win over St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa in the Under 19 inter-school limited overs cricket tournament match played at Panagoda.   

Salgado was associated in two fruitful partnerships first of 53 runs for the third wicket with Rusanda Gamage and the other of 76 runs for the fourth wicket with Shenon Rodrigo which helped St. Peter’s chasing 176 runs for victory to reach the target in the 34th over helping them to begin the campaign on a winning note.   

Sri Sumangala College Panadura and Harischandra National School Negombo recorded wins against Galahitiyawa Central and Lyceum International School Nugegoda in two other matches played at Maggona and Wattala.
