S. Thomas’ Mt. Lavinia ended the league matches of the ongoing Under-19 limited-over tournament with an unbeaten record when they cruised through to a convincing 90-run win over Richmond played at the Army Grounds in Dombagoda.

The Thomians taking first lease of the wicket made a modest score of 218/6, with Senadhi Bulankulame making a top score of 63.

Richmond, in their run chase, found the Thomians bowling trio of Akash Fernando, Abeeth Paranawidana, and Ashen Perera too hot to handle as they succumbed to a low score of 125 runs.

This was their eighth successive win, having begun the tournament with a no-decision against Nalanda and then chalking up wins against Wesley, Mahanama Colombo, St. Servatius Matara, St. Anthony’s Katugastota, St. Anne’s Kurunegala, Gurukula MV Kelaniya, and St. Sebastian’s Moratuwa, which ensured them a berth in the quarter-finals.
In the other matches that were played, St. Joseph’s, De Mazenod, Moratu MV, Isipathana, St. Anthony’s Wattala, Kingswood, Piliyandala Central, Jaffna Central, Vidyartha, and Nalanda Boys School Minuwangoda won their matches.
