Under-19 Cricket School cricket back after seven months

The Under-19 inter-schools cricket tournament, which came to a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be back in action after a lapse of seven months. The Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association, with the blessings of Sri Lanka Cricket, have finalised arrangements to conduct the postponed Division Three quarter-finals which are scheduled to get underway from today. Eight teams qualified to the quarter-finals after the completion of the first round matches where 57 school teams participated. Twenty teams advanced to the second round before the tournament came to a standstill before it was ultimately postponed. All quarter-final fixtures will be played at the Ananda Sastralaya ground in Kotte under strict health regulations set by the health authorities, sans spectators. (MSA)
