Half tons by Supun Waduge and Janith Ravishka paved the way for Trinity to record a convincing 114-run win over St. Thomas Matara in the Under-19 inter-school limited-overs tournament encounter played at Matara.
The match, reduced to 40 overs, saw Trinity take the first lease of the wicket. Supun cracked an 89-ball 74 inclusive of six boundaries and a six, and Janith made 67 with six boundaries as the pair shared a valuable 114-run stand for the third wicket to help Trinity make a score of 204.
St. Thomas Matara’s run chase was nowhere near the target as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were restricted to a score of 90, which ensured Trinity their fourth win of the tournament.
An impressive six-wicket haul by Kavindu Kaushalya, who was supported by Dinidu Sasmitha, helped De Mazenod demolish St. Benedict’s by ten wickets in the match played at Kandana.
