Tharindu Harshana shone with a knock of 96 for Thurstan College while Uvindu Weerasekara cracked a half ton and Gishan Balasooriya bagged five scalps for Royal College in the drawn Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.
The second day’s play started with Royal College declaring their innings on the overnight score of 206 for 4 after bowling out Thurstan College for 114 runs. Thurstan College batting the second time was guided by Harshana who made a top knock of 96 which helped them make a score of 287 for 9 declared.
Balasooriya who bagged five scalps ended with a match bag of 9 for 77 and Royal batting the second time ended the day on 83 for 2.
