Under 19 Cricket Tharindu shines with quick fire 173 in drawn match

Tharindu Amarasinghe shone for Prince of Wales with a quick fire knock of 173 runs in only 133 balls inclusive of 23 boundaries and five sixes in their drawn Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter against Ananda College concluded at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.


Tharindu was involved in three valuable partnerships first of 56 runs for the second wicket with Omesh Mendis followed by a 63 runs stand for the fourth wicket with Sumalka Fernando and 82 runs for the fifth wicket with Vidath Direndra to help Prince of Wales taking first lease of the wicket to make a formidable score of 328 runs.
Ananda in their turn resuming from their overnight score of 70 for 2 helped by a knock of 98 from Nethma Karunaratne went on to make a bold reply of 293 runs.
