Under 19 Cricket Tier ‘A ‘ Eight quarter-finalists found

The eight teams to qualify to the quarter-finals of the Under 19 Division One Tier ‘A’ segment inter-schools cricket tournament were found after the completion of the first round matches.  
Richmond College Galle, the last year’s runner-up, was the only side to end their first round matches with an unbeaten record by winning all the eight teams that they played and ended up securing 39 points to book the quarter- final berth.  


St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa along with Maliyadeva College Kurunegala and St. Anthony’s College Katugastota advanced to the quarter-finals after ending up as the second, third and fourth positions to advance to the quarter- finals.  


 Mahanama College Colombo was the other unbeaten team of the tournament as they came out on top in their group have recorded six wins from the eight matches that they played with defending champions St. Joseph’s College, St. Benedict’s College and Trinity College following as the second, third and fourth teams to make it to the quarter-finals.  


The quarter-final matches are scheduled to be played during the course of this week and with bad weather prevailing presently the organisers may be forced to postpone the matches.

Mahanama College Colombo vs. St. Anthony’s College Katugastota  
Trinity College Kandy vs. St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa  
St. Benedict’s College Kotahena vs. Maliyadeva College Kurunegala  
 St. Joseph’s College Colombo vs. Richmond College Galle
