First innings win for Trinity

Trinity College completed a first innings win over Wesley College in their Inter School Under 19 cricket encounter which concluded at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy today. 

This encounter was played for the Richie Kannangara trophy which has remained in Kandy for the last eight years. 

Meanwhile, St. Anthony’s College Katugastota completed a comfortable innings and 25-run win over Dharmaraja College in their Inter School Under 19 cricket encounter which concluded at Katugastota today. 

The highlight of the game was a fine ton by Antonian player Kavindu Shehan who stroked 15 boundaries and two huge sixes in his hurricane knock which rocked Katugastota. Both Trevin Mathews and Thisara Ekanayake both took five wickets a piece.

This was the Antonians third win in a row earlier getting the better of Wesley College and Ananda College.

Mahinda to record first win, Ananda suffers third defeat

Mahinda College Galle recorded their first outright win of the ongoing Under 19 inter-school cricket season with a comfortable seven-wicket win over Ananda College, who suffered their third successive outright defeat.

The architects of the win for Mahinda were Dhanuja Induwara, Hiruna Gallage and Kaveen Rukshan whose contributions laid the foundation for their victory.

Bandaranayake MMV Gampaha along with St. John’s Jaffna and Nalanda Boys School Minuwangoda too recorded outright wins against St Mary’s Kegalle, Sri Jayawardenapura MMV Kotte and St Xavier’s Marawila.
