Veteran G.L.S. Perera at the helm of SLATOA

G.L.S. Perera, a veteran of over 50 years of experience in Sri Lanka Athletic (SLA) administration, was unanimously elected as Chairman of the SLA Technical Officials Association (SLATOA) at the annual general meeting held at St. Benedict’s College Auditorium in Kotahena.
In fact, all office-bearers of the SLATOA were elected unanimously, with Perera succeeding P.H.D. Waidyathilaka, an internationally renowned athletic technical officer. 
Veteran Perera was a former public schools’ athlete and a former official of the Sri Lanka Athletic Club and Lanka Lions Sports Club.
Perera, a veteran in the field of athletic technical matters, had the honour of officiating as an athletic technical official at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Bernard Perera, another athletic technical expert, was elected as the Secretary of the SLATOA.
