Vidyartha outclass St. Sylvester’s

Vidyartha College outplayed their traditional rivals St. Sylvester’s College by 64 points (10 tries, 7 conversions) to 22 points (4 tries, 1 conversion) to win their annual Bertie Nillegoda and P M L Banda trophy rugby encounter which concluded at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy recently.
At the short breather the winners led 42/12.
H. Surantha, Ranidu Gajanayake (3), S. Sadew, Nanjana Wijesuriya (2), Gayan Perera, Chamodh Hettiarachchi and Kavin Jayasinghe scored for Vidyartha with Rusith Kumara converting seven of them.

Meanwhile, Krishan Abeykoon, R. Kreeshanthan, Viraj Devinda and R. Pavith scored tries for the losers.
Pavith added the extra two points.
Vidyartha also made a clean sweep when they won the Under 16 and Under 14 outings as well.
