Vidyartha College will meet Kingswood College in their Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament encounter at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy today. The kick-off is at 4.15 p.m.
Vidyartha led by Gayan Perera have experienced mixed fortunes in their two matches so far.
They emerged victorious against St. Joseph’s College (27-22) in a superb performance in Colombo in the curtain-raiser match but fell short against Royal College (10-25) at the Nittawela Stadium in their home encounter last week.
Kingswood, on the other hand, are looking for their first win of the tournament after having suffered two heavy defeats against St. Peter’s College (3-46) and Royal College (5-60) in their previous matches.

Sumedha Malawana will be calling the shots for Vidyartha while Kingswood will be under the guidance of Coach Dinesh Gamage.
Vidyartha’s stunning victory over the favourites St. Joseph’s certainly showed their capabilities on the field. They will be looking to replicate that performance and translate it into a win against Kingswood.
The Kingswoodians under the leadership Anudha Upek, have some very good players such as deputy Skipper Damindu de Silva and Nifraz Ruzaik in their outfit.
Meanwhile, Perera’s leadership will be crucial for Vidyartha and his performance will be one to watch alongside Deeshana Balasooriya - the deputy of the outfit – and both are playmakers of the side.
However, Kingswood will be aiming to turn their fortunes around after two consecutive defeats. They will need to regroup and come up with a winning strategy to challenge the Vidyartha outfit.
The experience of their coaching staff and the hunger to get on the scoreboard could be motivating factors for Kingswood.
