Visakha bag WP Under-18 Netball crown

Visakha Vidyalaya Under-18 and Under-16 Netball Teams

Visakha Vidyalaya, Sapugaskanda won the Under-18 title of the Western Province Inter-Schools Netball Championship 2024 and qualified to compete in the National School Games Netball Tournament.

The Western Province Inter-Schools Netball Tournament was held at the Visakha Grounds in Colombo.

11 schools from the Western Province Zonal participated in this tournament and in the semi-finals Visakha beat Musaeus College 13-11 and in the final beat Holy Family Convent, Kalutara 12-11.

Visakha won the Under-18 Western Province Schools Netball Championship for the first time. 

Meanwhile, the Visakha Under-16 Team secured third place at the Western Province Schools Netball Championship. 

Results:
Under-16 champions: Sujatha Vidyalaya, Nugegoda, runners-up: Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda, Third place: Visakha Vidyalaya, Sapugaskanda.

Under-18 champions: Visakha Vidyalaya, Sapugaskanda. Runners-up: Holy Family Convent, Kalutara. Third place: Musaeus College.

Under-20 champions: Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo. Runners-up: Buwanekaba Vidyalaya. Third place: Holy Family Convent, Kalutara.
