Volleyball qualifiers for Commonwealth Games today

The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and Beach Volleyball Association will field four of their strongest beach volleyball players Ashen Rashmika, Malitha Yapa, Chathurika Madushani and Deepika Bandara for the 2022 Commonwealth Games (Asian) qualification beach volleyball tournament.  

The tournament takes place today and tomorrow (March 18 and 19) at Negombo Beach Park conducted by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). Apart from hosts Sri Lanka, Maldives, Malaysia and Singapore both men and women are vying for a spot in the July 28 to August 6 Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham, England.  

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and C.W. Mackie is sponsoring this tournament.  
The final will be held tomorrow commencing at 6:00 p.m. with Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa as Chief Guest.
