Wayamba Province U-19 Schools Rugby 7’s tournament Maliyadeva emerge champions

 Maliyadeva College emerged Cup Champs of the inaugural Dialog Schools Rugby 7s, North Western Province tourney, by topping the league table at the Maliyadeva College Rugby Grounds, Kurunegala. Maliyadeva College Kurunegala emerged champions of the Wayamba Province U-19 Dialog Schools Rugby 7’s tournament at the Kurunegala Rugby ground yesterday.

Maliyadeva bagged the Cup while Ibbagamuwa Central took the Plate title, with Welagedera Central won the Bowl title and Kuliyapitiya Central the Shield title.

The Schools Rugby 7’s is being conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association and sponsored by Dialog Axiata. The Sabaragamuwa Province tournament is scheduled to be played on December 30 at the Ruwanwella 
rugby ground.

Results:
Session 1 – Maliyadeva beat Kuliyapitiya Central 59-0; Ibbagamuwa Central beat Welagedera Central 17-12.
Session 2 – Maliyadeva beat Welagedera Central 42-0; Ibbagamuwa Central beat Kuliyapitiya Central 32-0.
Final session – Maliyadeva beat Ibbagamuwa Central 27-5; Welagedera Central beat Kuliyapitiya Central 50-0.-MSA
