Wennappuwa Joseph Vaz and HFC hockey champions in Sandalanka

 St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa and Holy Family Convent Wennappuwa won the inaugural Under 20 Boys’ and Girls’ Hockey Championship 2023 held at the National School Ground, Sandalanka.This tournament was organised with the aim of spreading the game of hockey among North Western Province schools.

Sandalankawa National School were boys’ runners-up while Parakamabahu MV Polgahawela won third place.

Sandaruwan National School finished as runners-up in the girls’ competition, while Holy Family Convent Marawila were third.Boys and girls who won the first, second and third places in this tournament qualified to participate in the 2023 All Island Schools Games Hockey tournament conducted by the Ministry of Education.
