Western Province John Tarbat Junior athletic meet on August 19-21

 The Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association (SLSAA) has made arrangements to hold the 51st Ritzbury Sir John Tarbat Junior Athletic Championship 2023 preliminary round Western Province Athletic Meet on August 19, 20 and 21 at the National Stadium, Bandaragama.   

Four preliminary round province meets of the Junior Tarbat Athletic Championship is being held with the Southern, Uva and Sabaragamuwa province meets in Beliatta.    
SLSAA says that more than 1,000 sportswomen are going to participate in the Western Province tournament to be held in Bandaragama.   

In addition, the preliminary round of Central, North Western and North Central Province is scheduled to be held on September 2 and 3 at Digana Stadium, Kandy.   
On the request of the sponsors, SLSAA has made arrangements to hold a separate tournament for school athletes in and around Jaffna district, but due to the fact that very few people have entered for it, the holding of that tournament is uncertain.    

However, the tournament is scheduled to be held on September 30 and October 1 at Dureiappa Stadium, Jaffna.   

CBL Foods International PVT LTD will sponsor the Sir John Tarbat Junior and Senior Championship for the 11th consecutive year. 

 
 Meanwhile, the 51st Junior Tarbat tournament, which is running at the national level, is scheduled to be held on November 3, 4 and 5 at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
