Women’s Invitational T20 Navy SC, Air Force SC to clash in final today

Navy SC and Air Force SC qualified to clash in the final of the Women’s Invitational T20 cricket tournament with wins over Badureliya SC and Ace Capital CC in the matches that were played at Reid Avenue.  

Navy SC helped by half tons from Prasadani Weerakkody and Sathya Sandeepani coasted to a convincing 109 runs win over Badureliya CC.   

Navy SC taking first lease of the wicket made a formidable score of 166 for 2 which came on the back of three valuable partnerships first an opening wicket stand of 58 runs between Umesha Thineshani who put another stand of 65 runs for second wicket Sathya Sandeepani who made an unbeaten 54 in 36 balls with eight boundaries and Sathya associated in an unbroken stand of 43 runs for the third wicket.   

Badureliya CC in their turn was bundled out for a low score of 59 runs.  

Air Force SC pulled off a comfortable seven wicket win over Ace Capitial CC in a low scoring match played at the same venue with Ace Capital CC batting first being restricted for a score of 57 runs and Air Force SC reaching the target in the eighth over.  

The final between Navy SC and Air Foce SC is scheduled to be played at the MCA ground from 10:00 a.m. onwards today.

At Reid Avenue – Navy SC won by 108 runs

Navy SC 166 for 2 in 20 overs (Prasadani Weerakkody 50, Umesha Thimeshani 38, Sathya Sandeepani 54 not out, Hansima Karunaratne 15 not out)  
Badureliya CC 59 in 16.5 overs (Shayanni Senaratne 16, Dinesha Jayasinghe 16; Hansima Karunaratne 3 for 13, Maduri Samudika 2 for 12, Chandima Gunaratne 2 for 12)  

At Reid Avenue – Air Force SC won by seven wickets

Ace Capital CC 58 for 5 in 20 overs (Shikari de Silva 34; Tharuka Shehani 2 for 12)  
Air Force SC 59 for 3 in 7.5 overs (Lihini Apsara 27 not out; Himasha Kavindi 3 for 18)
