Sri Lanka Women’s under 19 captain Manudi Nanayakkara shone in Dambulla Women’s convincing seven wicket win against Colombo Women in a low scoring final of the inaugural Women’s National Super League limited over tournament played at the Colts ground yesterday.
Right arm pacie Nanayakkara ruined the Colombo Women’s top order batting by claiming three of the top five wickets to send them reeling to 36 for 5 and was supported by Nimesha Madushanka and Sathya Sandeepani who together shared five wickets between them as they combined to bundle them out for a meager 66 runs. The Sri Lanka Under 19 skipper ended with impressive figures of 5 for 18.
Dambulla Women in their run chase though undergoing early hiccups succeeded to race to the target in the 12th over.
