Team Kandy celebrates a dismissal

Harshitha Samarawickrama‘s unbeaten knock of 130 in 133 balls inclusive of ten boundaries and three sixes paved the way for Dambulla Women to record a big win by 178 runs over Galle Women in the Women’s National Super League limited over tournament encounter played at P Sara Stadium yesterday.
Samarawickrama was associated in three valuable partnerships first of 81 runs for the second wicket with Imalka Mendis who hit 51, 72 runs for the third wicket with Sathya Sandeepani and an unbroken 70 runs for the fifth wicket with Kaushini Nuthyanga to help Dambulla Women taking first lease of the wicket make a formidable score of 280 for 4.
Galle Women in their turn was never going to be in the run chase as they lost their top five wickets with the score on 79 and never recovered as they were bowled out for a low score of 102 runs.
Kandy Women pulled off a thrilling one wicket win over Colombo Women in another match of the same tournament played at the Colts ground. Kandy Women in their run chase underwent some anxious moments and after losing their top five wickets with the score on 40 they recovered through a 97 runs stand between skipper Kaveesha Dilhari and Ama Kanchana.
But their separation saw them falling back again as they lost three quick wickets and was struggling on 169 for 9 in the 45th over but managed to race to the target in the 48th over.
