Women’s U23 Inter-District T20 Galle Women record fifth successive win

Galle Women continued their winning streak in the ongoing Women’S U23 Inter-District T20 cricket tournament when they cruised through to their fifth successive with a comfortable five wicket win over Matara Women in the match played at the Sooriyawewa Stadium.  


The low scoring match saw Matara Women taking first lease of the wicket being restricted for a score of 60-run and Galle Women in their run chase reached the target in the 17th over.  
Batticaloa Women and Polonnaruwa Women chalked up their first win of the tournament when they defeated Ampara Women and Matale Women in the matches played at Batticaloa and Dambulla.

At Sooriyawewa – Galle Women won by five wickets

Matara Women 60 for 9 in 20 overs (Lakshi Abhimani 3 for 14, Shashini Gimhani 2 for 15)  
Galle Women 61 for 5 in 16.2 overs (Shashini Gimhani 17, Sumudu Nisansala 18 n.o.: Devindi Rasanjana 3 for 25)  


At Batticaloa – Batticaloa Women won by one wicket

Ampara Women 85 for 8 in 20 overs (S. Methsara 17: Juliana Jesudasan 3 for 13, Vinmathi Kathirgamaththamby 3 for 26)  
Batticaloa Women 86 for 9 in 18.5 overs (S. Dharmadasa 5 for 22)  

At Dambulla – Polonnaruwa Women won by five wickets

Matale Women 122 for 8 in 20 overs (Roshani Wijesinghe 16, Piumali Keerthiratne 38 n.o.: Subhanya Nishadi 3 for 12, Maleesha Deshani 2 for 11)  
Plonnaruwa Women 123 for 5 in 18 overs (Janani Mayurika 36, Subhanya Nishadi 28 n.o.: Sandya Kumarasiri 2 for 12)
