Galle Women and Gampaha Women advanced to the final of the Under 23 Women’s T20 tournament by recording wins against Anuradhapura Women and Kandy Women in the two semi finals played at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona yesterday.
In the morning session an unbeaten 67 in 64 balls inclusive of three boundaries by Sanjana Kavindu who put on an opening wicket stand of 95 runs with Hiruni Hansika helped Galle Women taking first lease of the wicket to make 149 and Anuradhapura Women in their run chase was able to muster a score of only 49 runs.
In the match played in the evening a quick-fire knock of 88 in 60 balls with 13 boundaries by Sandali Weerasinghe who shared an unbroken stand of 101 runs for the fourth wicket with Hasini Wijesinghe saw Gampaha Women make 145 while Kandy Women in their turn was bowled out for 92 runs.
The final will be played today from 10.00 a.m. onwards at the same venue.

Anuradhapura U23 Women 49 in 10.3 overs (Shashini Gimhani 3 for 5, Lakshi Abhimani 2 for 4)
At Maggona – Gampaha Women won by 53 runs
Gampaha U23 Women 145 for 3 in 20 overs (Sandali Weerasinghe 88 n.o., Hasini Wijesinghe 27 n.o.)
Kandy U23 Women 92 in 16.5 overs (Nikesha Wijesekera 3 for 10, Kavisha Hashmika 3 for 11, Nipuni Navodya 2 for 9)
