Yevan secures podium finish in Netherlands

Sri Lankan, Yevan David’s entry into Formula 3 Racing in the fifth round of Eurocup3 at Zandvoort, the Netherlands concluded over the weekend was on a sensational note. 

Eurocup3 is a step up from Formula 4 and utilises the same chassis as Formula 3 Regional.

His performance as a rookie driver was most noteworthy in that he was driving a Formula 3 Car for the first time in wet weather conditions on a track unfamiliar to him. 

Despite these issues he recorded the fastest time for the first sector during qualifying and secured 13th position on the grid for Race No. 2.

A well judged and skillful racing by David during the final race saw him moving from P13 to P7 with a masterly double overtake ensuring him a podium finish as the rookie 3 of the competition.
