Youth Games marathon events on Dec. 12

The Men’s marathon and the Women’s mini marathon events of the 33rd National Youth Games conducted by the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) will be held on December 12 from Galle Face Green commencing at 5:00 p.m.  

A total of 130 competitors will participate in the Men’s marathon and the same number of competitors will participate in the Women’s mini marathon, representing all Districts of the country, NYSC Assistant Director Anil Siriwardene said yesterday.  

The Men’s marathon will be held from Galle Face Green to Kalutara and the Women’s mini marathon will be held from Galle Face Green to Moratuwa.  

Meanwhile, the 33rd National Youth Games will be held from December 19 to 22 at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo. A total of 11 sports disciplines will be held during the Games.
