The All Share Price Index gained marginally to close at 7,385.0 points (+0.1%), whilst the Milanka Price Index dipped 12.8 points to close at 7,199.1 points (-0.2%).
The total turnover was LKR4,361.7 mn (USD39,286.7 k) vs.12-month average daily turnover of LKR2,621.3 mn (USD23,606.8 k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 131,257.1 k against the 12-month average daily volume of 90,090.0 k.
Top traded counters were
Broader market closed flat today after yesterday’s upturn. Ceylinco Insurance saw renewed buying interest on the back of institutional and high-net worth interest where the counter witnessed near 5% stake changing hands during the day. Richard Pieris and Colombo Fort Land and building continued to attract all round investor interest whilst institutional participation was evident on Lanka Walltile. Further, retail investor play was evident in Pelwatte Sugar Industries during the day.
Net outflow of foreign funds was seen during the day, where foreign purchases amounted to LKR179.2 mn (USD1,613.8 k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR311.2 mn (USD2,802.6 k).
